TinderInstagramDating application Tinder right-swiped on Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network Instagram.

Tinder announced an update Wednesday, which included Instagram integration, as well as the addition of common connections (mutual friends and friends of friends) and an expansion of its interests section.

The app detailed its update in a blog post:

Tinder profiles just got a lot more colorful. Simply open Tinder, go to your new profile and connect it to your Instagram account with a single tap — your Tinder profile will automatically start displaying your recent Instagram photos. Now there’s no need to put your Instagram handle in your profile description to tell your story (we got sick of having to do that, too). And in case you were wondering, Tinder won’t post anything to Instagram on your behalf or alter your existing Instagram privacy settings.

Tinder now shows you the mutual friends and friends of friends you have in common with your potential matches, adding more context and an extra degree of connection to every swipe. You won’t have common connections with every person on Tinder (that’d be super boring, wouldn’t it?), but when you do, we’ve got you covered.

What we like says a lot about us. That’s why we’re now showing you the full set of a person’s Facebook interests, and we’ll highlight the interests the two of you have in common. Because if they don’t love Kanye, it’s a deal breaker ;)

Tinder users: What do you think of the new features?
